About the Author
Salvadore Poe is a musician from New York, who in 1997 had a life changing experience that propelled him on several years of intensive self-inquiry. Traveling wherever he needed to go to meet teachers, and meeting many authentic ones, he eventually wound up living in India with two revered sages. In 2004, after years of meditation and countless mystical, transcendent experiences, he finally met his last teacher. Eight years later, while he was living an ordinary life making music in India, someone he met asked him to share and this work was born.

The very best book if you are serious about being done

Like many other reviewers, I have had many teachers and read many books over a couple of decades on the "spiritual path." It can take a long, long time to separate the wheat from the chaff, to see for yourself what is and is not true--and given the recent proliferation of teachers I wonder sometimes if it is getting more difficult, rather than easier, to sort out truth from fiction.
I'd recommend this book over all others I have read, and Sal over all teachers I have met, because he does two things better than anyone else I've read and worked with: first, he's all wheat and no chaff--Sal gets directly and unambiguously to the truth, without the extraneous "spiritual" and psychological side paths or blind alleys that other teachers seem to get sidetracked in. This sidetracking seems to happen, in my experience, even for many teachers who I think are very clearly awake and done Some just seem to be better than others at conveying the essence, and Sal does this better than anyone else I've encountered. Second, he insists that you experience and experiment for yourself, as you are reading the book. Quite often he writes only one sentence, then directs you to check out what he has just described. Over and over again, in different ways, from different perspectives, building an unambiguous and clear set of knowings that are what you know, not just what he knows, because you have seen them for yourself. This is not a quick read, it's not really a "read" at all, it's a manual to help you see the truth, for yourself.
His instructions and suggestions are written from the perspective of a twenty-first century American and thus are clear to other twenty-first century Americans and other Westerners. That's very useful. I can read, say, Nisargadatta, and there are definitely very, very clear descriptions that jump right out at me, but there are also parts that I find almost incomprehensible because they are written for folks who have some knowledge of Hindu concepts, of which I have none. That make's Nisargadatta slow and confusing going for a guy like me who grew up in California, not Bombay/Mumbai. Sal's book may be slow, but it's not confusing.
I've also done Skype sessions with Sal as well as group sessions with others who have worked with him. He is ordinary, unpretentious, unmystical, funny, and unrelenting in keeping you focused on what's true, I give his book and his teachings the highest recommendation.

Unique and the most powerful and simple for me

I've done a good amount of nondual inquiry over the years. Sal's approach has brought me to a level of clarity in a couple of short weeks that I have never been at before. Of course it could be said that I am 'ripe' from the years of seeking and, while that is true, there is an approach here that I find unique and extremely effective and simple for me. I've always felt that using one's daily life as a vehicle to drop all these indoctrinated notions about an 'I having a life' is the most efficient way to go. It's hard for me to share more because I'm in the 'middle of this' right now, but I am surprised there are not more reviews of Sal's book and I wanted to add this in hopes more people will investigate the teachings presented here.

I can't recommend this highly enough

If you've read hundreds of non-duality books and you're getting weary of the spiritual search--this book may be the one to buy next. It may be your last spiritual book. It's that powerful. Sal cuts through to some simple basic inquiry that really allows us to perhaps--finally--quit searching. I can't recommend this highly enough.
